Catholic schools to break ground on new building project

Catholic schools to break ground on new building project

Billings Catholic Schools announced Thursday that it will move forward with the construction of a new school building.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the school, which will house kindergarten through eighth grade, is set for 1:30 p.m. April 21. It will take place at the building site with students, donors and school alumni in attendance.
The school system has been eyeing a plot of land at Woody Drive and Colton Boulevard for years as a new school site. The diocese already owns the lot.
The new school will combine the pre-high-school grade levels under one roof. Currently, they are spread among three buildings.
The estimated cost of the project is $18 million. Billings Catholic Schools officials previously said that they want to have $9 million in hand before breaking ground.
